UN Women Italy launches the Italian Community of the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs), the framework promoted by UN Women and the UN Global Compact to accelerate gender equality in the workplace
Nearly a decade alongside UN Women
Our participation in the WEP Forum 2026 is not a starting point, but the latest chapter of a journey already underway. Lattanzio KIBS has been a signatory of the Women's Empowerment Principles since 2017 and has since supported UN Women Italy across multiple projects and initiatives, consistently reaffirming its commitment to gender equality. In recent years, this collaboration has taken shape through some of the most significant international campaigns: from International Women's Day to the 16 Days of Activism with the UNiTE - Orange the World campaign. Commitments that trace a clear trajectory, and that find their natural continuation today in joining the WEPs Community.
An event built around companies' needs
The WEP Forum 2026 grows out of a listening process launched last April, when UN Women Italy brought together online more than 40 companies, banks, universities and organisations to gather the needs, expectations and priorities of those already signed up to the WEPs or considering joining the Community.
The insights gathered have shaped the agenda for 26 May, designed to respond concretely to the needs of participating organisations. The Forum marks the official launch of the WEPs Community in Italy and the beginning of an ongoing dialogue between companies, which will continue throughout 2026 with further meetings, including online.
The morning session is dedicated to sharing data, tools and corporate experiences, with the goal of providing concrete guidance on integrating the 7 WEPs Principles and the 10 priorities for gender equality and women's empowerment identified by the Scientific Committee of UN Women Italy. An open dialogue between organisations to turn principles into real action and corporate culture.
