Lattanzio KIBS managed the launch event for the new plan to strengthen foreign language learning

Opening Italian Schools to Europe

Yesterday, Lattanzio KIBS supported the Italian Ministry of Education and Merit (MIM) in the organization and delivery of the Ministry's official announcement to the entire national education system. The prestigious Aldo Moro Hall at the Ministry's headquarters hosted the national event, Italian Schools in Europe, during which Minister Giuseppe Valditara presented the Italian Students in Europe initiative, a new plan designed to strengthen the international dimension of Italy's education system.

Backed by an investment of more than €400 million and benefiting 150,000 students, the initiative represents a programme seven times larger than the entire Erasmus programme. It introduces a major European educational mobility and training scheme for upper secondary school students, with the objective of enhancing foreign language learning through international study experiences.

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni also attended the event, describing the initiative as the most significant language education and international mobility programme ever launched in Italy for upper secondary school students. In her remarks, the Prime Minister emphasized that languages are truly learned by living them - through immersion in the environments where they are spoken - rather than solely through textbooks. She highlighted the need to remove the language barriers that continue to limit opportunities for younger generations in an increasingly interconnected world. She also linked this vision to the broader principle of equal opportunity, stating: "Equality truly exists at the starting line, not at the finish line."

Supporting the communication of a reform of this scale and complexity was Lattanzio KIBS, whose specialist consulting expertise was entrusted by the Ministry to translate one of the most significant education reforms of recent years into a clear, coherent, and impactful national event.
